Introduction


Located in Caligny, in the heart of the industrial ecosystem of Portes de Flers, the Normand’Innov site is a recognized center of excellence, supported by the Normandy Region, the Department of Orne, and the Community of Agglomeration of Flers. In a logic of energy transition and support for local businesses, SHEMA commissioned UrbanThink to conduct a feasibility study for solarization, via the Athénergie platform.


Issue


SHEMA wanted to strategically plan its photovoltaic investments across the entire site, taking into account existing buildings, parking lots, as well as future developments. The goal was to identify sites with high solar potential, model energy and financial gains, and propose the best self-consumption scenarios, whether individual or collective, in response to the needs of established businesses.

Process


UrbanThink has mobilized Athénergie to analyze the technical feasibility of projects on rooftops, parking lots, and development areas. Based on plans integrated into the tool, profitability indicators have been calculated (cost, gains, ROI), as well as a precise assessment of the solar potential and its impact on decarbonization. Custom scenarios have been proposed based on the energy profile of the site and the available pooling options.


Results


The SHEMA now has a clear, quantified, and strategic decision support tool to guide its solarization policy. Thanks to Athénergie, the Normand’Innov site can become a low carbon industrial park model, combining innovation, economic performance, and environmental excellence. The results provide a solid foundation to launch the initial phases of investment and support companies toward greater energy autonomy.
