Introduction
Engaged in an ambitious ecological transition strategy, the Saint-Lô Agglo urban community called on UrbanThink to structure its energy-climate data across its 61 municipalities. This area, labeled "Territory for Positive Energy for Green Growth" and committed to 100% renewable energies by 2040, wanted a digital management tool to monitor and guide its public policies.
Issue
The territory of Saint-Lô Agglo had to face a dual requirement: reduce its greenhouse gas emissions (mitigation) while strengthening its resilience to the effects of climate change (adaptation). The diversity of data (energy, land use, solar cadastre, Cit’ergie indicators...) and their heterogeneity complicated their use for coherent, operational, and cross-cutting monitoring.
Process
UrbanThink has implemented the ThinkCities platform to aggregate and make readable the territory's data. The team designed a solar cadastre, customized Cit’ergie indicators, and an interactive GIS layer manager. A CSV import tool has also been developed, as well as a visual thematization system to enable the services of Saint-Lô Agglo to more effectively guide their energy strategy at the local level.
Results
Saint-Lô Agglo now has a complete geodecision-making interface, combining technical data, climate-energy issues, and territorial indicators. This system facilitates the management of the Cit’ergie approach, strengthens inter-service collaboration, and speeds up decision-making to meet the ambitious environmental goals of the territory. It constitutes a true digital foundation for local ecological transition.
