Introduction
As the leading European provider of care and support services, Groupe KORIAN wished to embark on an ambitious approach to solarize its healthcare facilities, spread across more than 1100 sites in Europe. To structure this strategy and ensure its feasibility, the group commissioned UrbanThink for a large-scale feasibility study, relying on the Athénergie platform.
Issues
In the face of rising energy costs and increasing decarbonization requirements, Korian needed to be able to prioritize its photovoltaic investments based on the actual consumption of its sites, their solar potential, and their environmental profitability. It was essential to have a reliable decision-making tool that combined technical analysis, financial modeling, and projections of carbon savings on a European scale.
Process
UrbanThink has mobilized Athénergie to conduct a multi-criteria analysis of the 412 French sites and 688 European sites of the group. The study verified the technical and economic feasibility of solarization, while incorporating consumption data specific to each site. The results were presented in the form of analysis and synthesis sheets, facilitating strategic steering by the group.
Results
Korian now has a consolidated and prioritized vision of its photovoltaic potential at the European level. This study enables the group to structure a coherent investment plan, targeting sites with high environmental and economic impact. Athénergie has helped to quantify the ecological benefits in terms of decarbonization, thus reinforcing Korian's CSR commitment and its positioning as a responsible leader in the medico-social sector.
